Learn Timeless Urbanism & Beautiful Architecture

A truly inspiring course. It gave me a systematic way to understand how the urban environment influences my well being. It confirmed the "gut feeling" I had before about many places - but now I am able to explain it.

My name is Homa, and I am a Planner based in Ottawa. I truly enjoyed this course and found it to be both highly interactive and engaging. As an architect trained in a modernist school, I used to believe that progress in design was only measured by innovation and technology. This course challenged that assumption and opened my eyes to an entirely different way of understanding architecture and urbanism, one grounded in human dignity, beauty, and purpose. What makes it truly special is how clearly it explains why some cities nurture community and joy, while others isolate and exhaust us. It gives you the tools to understand the timeless principles behind places that endure, and the humility to see where our discipline lost its way. Seeing so many people engaged in this movement fills me with hope. It reminds me that there’s a growing desire for cities that are not only efficient, but meaningful, places that bring people together and stand the test of time.

The course has exceeded my expectations and I am happy that I have received value for money despite the fact that I have closely followed the video from your parent channel. I did not expect to receive so much history and psychology in what appears to be a course on aesthetics and architecture.  I look forward to encouraging a return (with modern technological assistance where appropriate) to this very wise form of urban and town planning.  Wow!  What a deep dive and I still have one module to go, Thanks to Ruben and all at Aesthetic City. 

This video series is outstanding. I can’t think of another source which combines the topics many of us are so passionate about in one place – urban design, placemaking and architecture – and presents it so thoroughly, so enjoyably and yet right to the point. A huge well done to Ruben and his team!

This course is everything you ever wanted to know about traditional architecture and urbanism but were too afraid to ask. It's accessible yet insightful, comprehensive but also detailed. From cornices to city blocks, this course has what you need to understand buildings and cities.

I have no background in architecture, drafting or construction, but all of the videos are so thorough and easy to understand that it is truly a joy to sit down in the evening with a warm tea, and do a few lessons followed by the quiz after. A truly educational course for everyone from studied architects to city planners and enthusiasts alike. Bravo!

I have thoroughly enjoyed coming back to my architecture studies after thirty years through this course. It is true that parts of the architecture school are disappointing because the old knowledge of designing and building was/is not taught. I highly recommend this course for anyone who is frustrated by the ugly buildings built everywhere that disturb the peace of a place, and wonder if today's society can still build places that are aesthetically pleasing to most. The course highlights the key elements that traditional masters used to design such places. The importance of beautiful public art/architecture cannot be underestimated, and more people should demand it. This course was very informative and worth every dollar spent.

This is an excellent course. Ruben guides you in a rapid but very dense way in short lessons. I recommend it to anyone with a general interest in architectural and city planing. Especially i recommend this course as a "must-do" if you are thinking about Architectural studies.

As a result of this course, I feel like I can engage in much more informed conversations with local councils and planners. I live in a small rural town of around 30,000 in Australia. There are a lot of changes planned as they seeks to double the population. This program has given me the courage to fight for it to be done in the best possible way. Thank you.

If you're looking to get a gist of the basics of good designs for places or are going to be in a position to be developing land, I'd say this course is mandatory. It has answered all of my questions and more, while being at an affordable price for the information gathered. To be clear, my goal in this course was to learn about the reasons for more classical architecture and how to design them. I also wanted to understand the differences between where I grew up, The Commonwealth Of Pennsylvania and The State Of Mississippi, in terms of architecture and planning. Truly 10/10. TL;DR: Just DO it.

I've always been interested in architecture and have been wanting to go back to school for urban design. This was a great introductory course that gives so much information in one package. It has helped me see what I truly want to focus in and strengthened my resolve to pivot into the sector.

This course provides valuable insight into core principles of urban planning and design that are still frequently overlooked, yet have been validated over many generations. I believe that an increasing number of architecture schools will integrate this crucial subject into their curricula, helping to train professionals and make the creation of better places a standard practice.

As a developer from Macedonia, where this is seen purely as business and modernism is the only socially acceptable form of architecture, this course has been a breath of fresh air and a well of knowledge for me. I am currently applying a lot of the principles that I have learned from this course to my current project and I hope to only improve upon my knowledge.
